vCard QR Codes
vCard QR codes are digital business cards. When someone scans, their phone opens a contact card with all your information pre-filled. They can save it to their phone instantly — no typing, no mistakes.
What You Can Include
Section titled “What You Can Include”- Full name — your name (required)
- Phone number — mobile or office
- Email address — personal or business email
- Company name — your organization
- Job title — your role
- Website — your portfolio or company site
- Street address — office or mailing address
- City, State, ZIP — location details
- Notes — any additional info (bio, pronouns, links, etc.)
The Form
Section titled “The Form”Fill in the fields you want to share. Only name is truly required, but phone and email are recommended. Leave fields blank to omit them from the contact card.
Key Features
Section titled “Key Features”Works on all smartphones. When scanned, the vCard data opens in the device’s native Contacts app. Users tap “Save” and your contact is added to their address book. No external links or servers — all data is in the QR code itself.
Pro Tips
Section titled “Pro Tips”- Phone format matters — include the country code (e.g., +1 for US). It helps international contacts dial correctly.
- Choose primary contact method — if you list phone, email, and website, the user will see all three. Pick the most important one to ensure it’s easy to find.
- Keep notes brief — this field is great for pronouns, timezone, or “Best for project inquiries” but avoid long paragraphs.
- Test the save workflow — scan on your phone and confirm the contact saves correctly with all fields visible.
- Design context — print vCard codes on actual business cards or in email signatures. The smaller the card, the larger the QR should be (1.5-2 inches minimum).
- Update when you change jobs — if your company or title changes, regenerate the code. Old codes will still work but show outdated info.
Common Use Cases
Section titled “Common Use Cases”Print vCard codes on business cards so people can scan instead of asking for a card. Include in conference materials for attendee networking. Add to email signatures for recipients to save your contact. Display at trade shows for fast contact collection. Use in LinkedIn profiles as a direct link to save contact info. Add to professional portfolios or resumes for easy contact sharing.
Limitation
Section titled “Limitation”vCard codes don’t track who scanned or when. They’re a one-way sharing mechanism. For analytics, pair the vCard with a URL code that tracks contact downloads.
