Create Your First QR Code

The Qrius Codes wizard guides you through creating a QR code in just four steps. Whether you’re linking to a website, sharing WiFi, or embedding contact info, the process is intuitive and visual.

When you click Create from the dashboard (or start onboarding), you’ll see a grid of nine QR code types:

  • URL — Link to a website or landing page
  • Text — Static text or messages
  • Email — Prepopulated email with subject
  • Phone — Click-to-call on mobile
  • SMS — Text message template
  • WiFi — Connect to a network (password included)
  • vCard — Contact card with phone, email, address
  • Event — Calendar invite (iCal format)
  • Location — GPS coordinates or directions

Pick the type that matches your needs. You can always change your mind—just go back and pick a different type.

Now fill in the details for your chosen type:

For a URL: Paste the web address you want to redirect to.

For Text: Type your message.

For WiFi: Enter the network name, password, and security type (WPA, WEP, etc.).

For vCard: Fill in as many fields as you need (name, phone, email, company, website, address).

You’ll also see an optional Campaign Name field here. This is a friendly label (like “Q1 Marketing Campaign” or “Office WiFi”) that appears on your dashboard instead of the raw URL or content. It helps you organize and track QR codes at a glance.

The QR code preview updates in real-time as you type—see exactly what you’re creating before you finish.

Make your QR code look brand-ready:

Colors

  • Change the dot color and background
  • Apply gradients for a modern look
  • Pick colors from a palette or enter custom hex codes

Dot Pattern

  • Choose different corner and dot styles (square, rounded, etc.)
  • Adjust the roundness/softness of corners

Logo & Frame

  • Upload a logo to embed in the center
  • Add a frame around the QR code with a custom label (e.g., “Scan Me”)
  • The frame text appears below or around the QR code

Pro Tip: Keep good contrast between your dots and background so scanners can read it reliably. The preview shows you how scannable your design is.

Choose your download format based on your plan:

  • PNG — Supported on all plans. Great for web, email, and print.
  • SVG — Vector format (Starter plan+). Perfect for resizing without loss.
  • PDF — Ready to print (Pro plan+). Highest quality for printing.

Click Download [Format] to save your QR code to your computer.

All QR codes you create in Qrius Codes are dynamic. This means:

  • The QR code itself never changes
  • But you can update where it points to (the destination URL)
  • You get real-time scan analytics
  • You can pause or delete the code anytime

This is different from static QR codes, which encode the data directly and can’t be changed once generated.

After downloading, your QR code is automatically saved to your dashboard so you can:

  • Track scans in real-time
  • Edit the destination URL
  • View analytics and geolocation data
  • Download again in a different format
  • Pause or delete it

You’ll see it in your QR Codes list with a thumbnail preview and your campaign name (if you gave it one).

You can go back at any step in the wizard. Just click the previous step number or the back arrow. Your data is saved as you go, so you won’t lose your work.

Your plan determines how many QR codes you can create:
