Brand Templates

Once you’ve perfected your QR code design—colors, gradients, dot patterns, logo, frame, and label—save it as a brand template. Reuse it across all your QR codes in seconds, ensuring consistent branding every time.

  1. Design your QR code with all customizations:
    • Colors and gradients
    • Dot and corner patterns
    • Logo (optional)
    • Frame and label (optional)
  2. Open the Customize panel (right-side tabs).
  3. Click “Save as Template” (appears in multiple tabs).
  4. Name your template:
    • Examples: “Brand Orange 2024”, “Product Launch Blue”, “Holiday Red & Green”
    • Be descriptive so you remember the use case.
  5. Optional: Add a description to note when or why to use it.
  6. Click “Save.”

Your template is now stored in your Qrius account and available across all your QR codes.

When creating or editing a QR code:

  1. Open the Customize panel.
  2. Click “Load Template” (appears in the Colors or Style tab).
  3. Select a template from your saved list.
  4. The QR code instantly adopts all that template’s styling:
    • Colors and gradients
    • Dot patterns
    • Logo
    • Frame and label

You can then tweak any aspect (colors, logo size, etc.) without affecting the saved template.

To update a saved template:

  1. Open a QR code styled with that template.
  2. Make your changes in the Customize panel.
  3. Click “Update Template” and confirm.

Or, visit your Templates page (in the sidebar) to see all saved templates and edit them directly without creating a QR code first.

Templates are stored as JSON files. Use export/import to:

  • Back up your brand styles.
  • Share templates across team members.
  • Migrate templates between Qrius accounts.
  1. Go to your Templates page.
  2. Hover over a template.
  3. Click “Export.”
  4. A JSON file downloads to your computer.
  1. Go to your Templates page.
  2. Click “Import Template.”
  3. Select a JSON file from your computer.
  4. The template is added to your library.

Tip: Share .json template files with your team so everyone uses the same brand styles.

For advanced customization, use the Template Studio (full-page editor):

  1. Go to Templates > New Template or Templates > Edit.
  2. The Template Studio opens with:
    • Live QR preview (center)
    • Clickable zones - Click dots, frame, logo, or label to edit that section
    • Right-side panels - 5 tabs (Colors, Dots, Logo, Frame, Background)
    • Undo/Redo - Full editing history
  3. Click-to-edit: Click any part of the QR code to jump to its panel.
  4. Keyboard shortcuts:
    • Cmd+Z / Ctrl+Z - Undo
    • Cmd+Shift+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z - Redo
    • Cmd+S / Ctrl+S - Save template
    • 1–5 - Jump to panel tabs
    • Esc - Close panels
  5. Click “Save” when done.

Your Qrius plan determines how many templates you can save:

  • Free - 1 template (perfect for single brand)
  • Starter - 5 templates (seasonal campaigns, variations)
  • Pro - Unlimited templates (unlimited campaigns and brands)
  • Business - Unlimited templates (enterprise white-label support)

Upgrade your plan to save more templates.

Create templates for:

  • Seasonal campaigns (Holiday Red, Summer Blue, Spring Pastels)
  • Different product lines (Product A Orange, Product B Purple)
  • Marketing channels (Social Media, Print, Email)
  • Client projects (Client A Brand, Client B Brand)

Template naming convention:

  • Brand Name - Use Case (e.g., “Acme Corp - Product Launch”)
  • Purpose - Version (e.g., “Holiday - v2”)
  • Channel - Date (e.g., “Email Campaign - Feb 2025”)

Keep templates simple:

  • If a template has too many variations, break it into separate templates.
  • A core template + one-off tweaks is better than a bloated template.

Moving to a new Qrius team?

  1. Export all templates from your old account (Templates page > Export).
  2. Join the new team.
  3. Import templates (Templates page > Import).
  4. All team members can now use the shared styles.

Template didn’t apply colors?

  • Color format (hex vs RGB) should auto-convert. Check your color input.

Logo didn’t import with template?

  • Check that the logo image URL is still valid. External images must be publicly accessible.

Template file won’t import?

  • Ensure the JSON file is valid and came from a Qrius export (not hand-edited).

Templates are the fastest way to maintain brand consistency across all your QR codes. Save, apply, share, and scale your visual identity.
